The International NIVEA Plan Partnership
Together, NIVEA & Plan – one of the oldest and largest children’s development organisations in the world – helps ensure that children living in poverty enjoy the right to basic education by providing equal access to quality education.

In developing countries 70 million children do not attend school and those that do frequently drop out. Poor quality education and school infrastructure are just some of the reasons. Plan are working to improve many things including the school environment, teaching methods and material. At the same time they are working closely with the local communities to guarantee a positive sustainable change in the lives of children.

By investing in education, we want to help these children to reach their full potential – as individuals, members of their communities and citizens of the world.

Project Example: Good Schools in the Himalayas
To create better learning conditions for over 5,000 children we are providing basic learning materials, setting up school libraries and child-friendly playing areas, installing water supplies and building toilets. We are also training teachers to use innovative and effective methods and materials. In addition, we are strengthening student councils and youth clubs to empower the children. The project which is running for three years will be completed in 2014.
