TRAVEL COSMETICS

Summertime is travel time
Time to finally get away from daily routines and head off on holiday! Going on holiday means not only change and relaxation for the mind, but also an adjustment for the body. A change in the day’s flow, a different diet, more sleep, a lot of sun, salt water, the beach, exercise and perspiration. Fortunately a holiday is also the perfect time to address your skin care and beauty needs. Your body will thank you for it by giving you a truly radiant and relaxed look.

Checklist
Sunscreen, after sun care as well as a mild product to fight against mosquitoes are among the basic things you need to include in your toiletry bag. So as not to forget anything, it’s best to make a checklist for your holiday purchases. This means that you won’t risk arriving at your holiday destination without your favourite products – and your skin won’t have to be subjected to unfamiliar ingredients and products. When packing, make sure you check the date of expiry of your skin care products. Sunscreen from your last holiday with an expired shelf life can no longer protect you properly – so throw it away!

Swimming in the ocean ranks among the most pleasant of holiday activities, and your skin and hair benefit from it. Saltwater is good for both, but it can also be drying. It’s best to pamper your stressed skin and hair in the evening with a gentle shower gel, a nurturing shampoo and a moisturising rinse. A moisturising skin care cream and treatment pack as the evening’s final skin care step are the perfect preparation for the next day out in the sun.

Packing correctly
When you pack, concentrate on the right clothing and save room for your cosmetics and personal hygiene products. You can purchase many products in handy travel sizes from 15 to 50 ml. When it comes to hair care, it’s best to use Two-in-One product such as shampoo that includes a moisturising conditioner. If you are travelling by air, be aware that liquids of only up to 100 ml are allowed in your hand luggage. These include creams, gels, sprays or toothpastes all of which you may only transport in a transparent, re-sealable plastic bag that holds a maximum of one litre. This has to be presented separately at the security gate. It is advisable to pack the majority of your cosmetics in your check-in luggage. Tip: Place breakable bottles and cans in a plastic bag and wrap it up in a hand towel.

Happy holidays!
