Love your skin: how to use day cream

You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression
Your face is the expression of your personality. Make sure that it looks fresh throughout the whole day with your personal beauty routine. Because a radiant face opens doors.

Your morning beauty routine

Every day in your life is different and has its own rhythm. And that’s why your skin values a regular beauty routine. You should make time for it, especially in the mornings when you are often under time pressure. Your skin needs lots of moisture and protection from external influences throughout the day.

The Japanese way of cleansing: a foaming net

Japanese women particularly like cleansing with foam. It cleans deep down and yet is gentle on your skin. This is how it works: First, dampen the fine-mesh net with water. Then put some cleansing product on it.

Then work it in and press it through the net thoroughly. Now the foam should appear through the mesh in the net. Wipe off the resulting foam and cleanse your face thoroughly with it. Incidentally, you can achieve a similar effect with NIVEA’s Soothing Cleansing Mousse.

Care before your beauty routine: Cleansing and toning

Cleansing the skin is always the first step in your face care routine – even in the mornings, too, because our skin regenerates itself over night. The dead skin cells should always be thoroughly removed. Only then can the nurturing elements of a day cream work to their full effect. Use a gentle cleansing milk with moisturising ingredients, such as NIVEA’s Indulging Cleansing Milk with Almond Oil and Hydra IQ*.
The second step after cleansing is toning. Pour some gentle toner onto a cotton pad. This will remove the remaining traces of the cleanser and prepare your skin for the day cream. Your face is now refreshed and radiant, ready for your day cream.

How to start the day beautifully

Perfect care, day and night

The right face care supports the skin around the clock. All you need is an eye cream, a day cream and a night cream – all tailored to your personal skin type.

Gently pat on eye cream

Eye cream prevents creases caused by dryness and laughter lines. This is how to apply eye cream properly: pat around the lower eyelid using your ring finger working from the inner to the outer corner of the eye.

The day has started: pay attention to your skin

Every day is a challenge for your skin. That’s why it needs a lot of protection and moisture. The more consciously you organise your routine, the more relaxed and balanced it will be. To find the best day cream, you need to know about your skin type and your face’s skin zones in detail. The area around the eyes is a really special case: the skin here is extremely thin and is severely stressed by blinking or rubbing your eyes.

And what if your complexion looks tired and pale? Quite simple: use a tinted cream, such as BB-Cream 5-in-1 by NIVEA. It has a light pigmentation that matches your natural skin tone and provides refreshing moisture. Are you outside a lot during the day? Then use a day cream with SPF. It protects your skin from the sun and prevents ageing caused by sunlight.

Day creams for every skin type

Moisturising depends on your skin type

It is important to know your skin type in order to find the ideal day cream. But it is not always easy. Everyone’s skin is different and changes over time. However, skin can be categorised based on five types. Find out which skin type you have and the best day cream for you.

Beauty sleep

Your skin has its own day and night biorhythm. During the day it needs protection and moisture; at night it requires support for its natural regeneration process. Day and night creams should therefore be tailored perfectly with one another. Because the skin is working flat out to regenerate itself at night, night creams are more moisturising and particularly rich in active ingredients.

In contrast to day creams night creams do not contain a sun protection factor. This is why you shouldn’t use a day cream at night as a sun protection factor is superfluous at night. Always apply your night cream as carefully and precisely as your day cream. Find out more about the correct night cream here.

For mature skin: the best anti-ageing day cream

Once you turn 30, the skin’s own active components such as collagen and hyaluronic acid start to decrease. Your skin is also less able to store moisture as the years pass. The result: your skin loses its volume. Naturally, we cannot stop the ageing process, however, the best anti-wrinkle day cream can delay it considerably.

Tight skin

Strict workout for the skin

Young and taut skin – who wouldn’t want it? Your skin will remain taut for longer or age more quickly depending on your predisposition, nutrition and lifestyle. However, caring for your skin attentively and systematically may reduce the signs of ageing considerably. During your life, it is more and more important to stimulate your skin with special anti-wrinkle cream.

In Q10 products the skin’s own agents such as Q10 support the skin in regenerating itself. The special formula of hyaluronic acid and magnolia extract in *NIVEA Serie Cellular Anti-Age*also accelerates cell renewal and skin regeneration. Just by applying your anti-ageing products, you can do something to combat wrinkles, by using them on every area. You can find out more about caring for mature skin here.
