Removing make-up perfectly

Discover our make-up removal tips
Even if you would rather not bother after a long night out – removing make-up is essential! Your eyelashes and skin will only remain healthy if you completely remove your make-up.

No more forgetting to remove your make-up

It seems a shame simply to wipe off your artistically applied make-up at the end of the day. But you simply can’t avoid it – and your skin will thank you.

Off with the make-up!

Every day, no matter what you have been doing, whether you wore make-up to work or were outside all day without make-up, dust particles, sebum and skin scales will have attached themselves to your skin and prevent it from breathing. So, they have to be removed every evening.

If you have also been wearing make-up, your skin may react irritably. This is why it is important to cleanse thoroughly every evening to prevent blemishes and your skin ageing prematurely.

You should use make-up remover before going to bed at the latest – this also avoids getting make-up residues on the bed linen.
Mild cleansers like NIVEA Aqua Effect Cleansing Mousse support the make-up removal process gently and cleanse thoroughly.

For blemish-free skin: don’t forget to remove your make-up

The skin’s recovery phase begins at night. If, however, make-up and powder are not removed, the pores get blocked. This causes blackheads and spots to form. Even if you don’t wear make-up and only use a cream, you too should cleanse your skin thoroughly in the evening. Every day, dirt and harmful substances from the environment find their way onto our skin and you have to remove these. This will keep your complexion fresh and rosy.

You should always carry out these three steps: cleanse, tone and moisturise so that your skin looks fresh and radiant every day.The cleansing and moisturising products should all be tailored to your skin type, of course. When cleansing, start by removing your eye make-up and then completely cleanse your whole face.

Tip: You can do both these steps at the same time when in the shower with *NIVEA In-Shower Wash Cream & Make-up Remover.*
Then use a toner to refresh, soothe and calm your face and to prepare it for the moisturising stage.

Mascara also has to be removed

Panda eyes won’t stand a chance: if you do not remove your mascara, it can flake off into your eyes. Mascara residue can dry out the eyelashes severely. In the worst case scenario they can even break off. Special eye make-up removers, such as *Gentle Eye Make-up Remover from NIVEA*, remove waterproof mascara easily and soothe the sensitive eye area at the same time. To cleanse thoroughly, spray some of the remover on a cotton pad and wipe it gently over your closed eyes.

But be careful:

Wipe only from the inside out, otherwise you will risk getting wrinkles. Cleansing wipes are usually too aggressive for the sensitive skin around the eyes – you will notice that they cause an unpleasant burning sensation. And to completely cleanse eye make-up and other cosmetics in the shower, simply use *In-Shower Wash Cream & Make-up Remover* from NIVEA.

*NIVEA’s Waterproof Eye Make-Up Remover* helps to remove long-lasting lipstick and waterproof mascara. It gently moisturises the eyelashes and also removes the residues of waterproof make-up.
