At NIVEA, your skin always comes first

For more than 100 years, we’ve been researching skin and looking for the best, safest and most effective skincare formulas for you. As one of the leading experts in skincare, we’re committed to the health and natural beauty of your skin and support it with state-of-the-art research.

Product safety: we go one step further

These numbers speak for themselves: more than 100 years of experience, almost 2,000 scientific studies per year and more than 1,000 NIVEA experts working in research and development. In 2018 alone, we used or applied more than 1,900 of our own patents worldwide in NIVEA products or in research for future developments.

We’re never satisfied with simply meeting legal requirements. We always go one step further for you: to offer you the best NIVEA skincare wherever you are in the world, our quality and safety criteria for ingredients and products are stricter than those required by law.

Our ingredients are high-quality and safe

When we select ingredients for NIVEA products, we set ourselves high standards in every respect. The ingredients we use for you should not only be high-quality and safe, but also as sustainable as possible. The best and most sustainable solution isn’t always the most obvious one – because in some cases, synthetically produced ingredients can actually be the better choice for your skin and for the environment than alternatives of natural origin.
