Our Commitments to Care Beyond Skin
Our Sustainability COMMITMENTS
As a leading skincare brand with more than 100 years of expertise, we know that a healthy environment is important for healthy skin. Yet our blue planet's natural beauty is suffering from overconsumption of resources and environmental pollution.
That's why, at NIVEA, we're committed to reducing our impact on the environment, its ecosystems and its inhabitants by developing and producing skincare that's gentle on your skin and kind to the planet you live on.
Discover what we're already doing to become more sustainable and how we're committed to caring beyond skin in the future, for you and for generations to come.

Our philosophy & targets
NIVEA has been a companion in people's lives for decades, caring for healthy, beautiful skin and nurturing you from the outside in. We feel honoured by that trust and want to live up to it by extending our care for your skin to the protection and preservation of our planet.
We're working hard to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible by rethinking our packaging, formulations and production methods. To achieve this, NIVEA has set ambitious company-wide climate targets that are in line with the latest climate science and designed to make a real difference to your world.

At NIVEA, we respect and love nature. Our care for the planet also includes protecting animals that depend on and maintain our ecosystems. We're convinced that animal testing isn't necessary to prove the effectiveness and safety of skincare products.
We make sure that everything we put into our NIVEA products is safe and healthy for you to use – and we strive to use responsibly sourced, renewable materials wherever possible to move towards a more sustainable future. When we use natural resources, we also pay close attention to how these plants are cultivated.

Naturally, our commitment to protecting our planet and our communities also extends to the way we produce NIVEA skincare: we aim to decrease our CO2 footprint by saving energy, generating less waste and using water responsibly.
