What Are Razor Bumps & Razor Burn?
Razor Bumps:
A razor bump is a type of skin irritation that occurs after shaving. They are usually caused by small ingrown hairs.
Razor Burn:
Razor burn is a form of irritant contact dermatitis - what we know as a skin rash. Razor burn is caused when shaving disrupts the outer skin layer which can cause tiny cracks, inflammation and dryness.
Razor burn may be red and cause stinging, itching and burning and usually appears on the legs, armpits, or face after shaving. While razor bumps are ingrown hairs that grow back into the skin and are characterised by small bumps, razor burn appears as red blotches or patches and can last hours or sometimes days.
