We take product testing extremely seriously to ensure consumers can have confidence in the protection our products provide. All NIVEA SUN products are tested by independent laboratories to make sure that they meet international industry standard ISO tests. Unfortunately, it seems that the BBC’s testing methodology for water-resistant sun protection products does not match the rigorous ISO tests that we put our products through, and we have pointed this out to the programme makers.

We would like to remind consumers that water-resistant does not mean waterproof, and that when using water-resistant sun protection products, it is important to regularly reapply sunscreen and where possible to seek shade and cover up when spending time in the sun.
